Glacier Peak, also known by the indigenous name Dakobed, is the fourth-highest stratovolcano in Washington state at an elevation of 10,520’. As the most isolated of the five major active volcanoes in Washington, its beauty is hidden away requiring mountaineers to make a rewarding, but grueling 33-mile round trip with 8,200’ of elevation gain. Whether you’ve climbed this remote peak, heard stories from loved ones, or explored virtually on Google Earth this 3D model of Glacier Peak will celebrate this grand mountain.
The model includes an integrated keyhole wall hanger giving you the option of hanging proudly on a wall, displaying with a model stand, or lying it flat on your desk, mantel, bookshelf, etc. And for context, the common name, indigenous name, latitude, longitude, elevation, and North arrow are incorporated into the model.
This 3D model was created from a USGS digital elevation model (DEM), manipulated in 3D modeling software, and 3D printed with PLA filament all, from about 70 miles from Glacier Peak itself! Printed with PLA filament on Duwamish & Coast Salish land.
